Tula Warrior Pillars

Tula rose to be a major power shortly after the fall of Teotihuacan. Tula is located North West of Teotihucan and was inhabited by the Toltecs. The city was over five miles square and is believed to have from 40,000 to 60,000 sixty thousand inhabitants at its peak. It was a warrior civilization which is reflected in it columns, which were sculpted in the shapes of warriors. Tula was destroyed in 1170 AD. It is unclear who destroyed the city or the reasons for the destruction. (Barghusen, 1999)
